Countdown to Celebrating our 25th Year in 2025

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year – stay safe and keep creating! As we head towards our 25th Year in 2025, we are grateful to everyone who has been part of TOPAZ ARTS. We remain committed to providing an inspiring space for artists to create, and for our community to gather and connect.

We hope you will join us in supporting TOPAZ ARTS
We are so close to meeting our yearend goal! Your contribution means so much and allows us to #keepTOPAZrunning

Thanks for joining us in 2024

In 2024, we created our latest evening-length dance Silweta that premiered in January presented at Out-Front! Fest at Abrons Arts Center. Throughout the year we supported new works by artists Abang-guard, Mary Prescott, and a double book launch by Warren Lehrer. We welcome 2024-25 AAPI Artists-in-Residence, celebrating dance artists of Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage – Ching-I Chang, Jennifer Chin, Marie Lloyd Paspe, Barkha Patel, Sugar Vendil, Annie Ming-Hao Wang – supporting each artist to develop and create new works in creative residency time at TOPAZ ARTS. As always, we continue to support hundreds of artists in NYC with affordable rehearsal space, as we offer highly subsidized rates of $10 per hour since we started 2000!

Many thanks to those who attended our exhibitions, from Queens to Quezon City, Manhattan to Manila  -including Architectural Gems of NYC by photographer Carlos L. Esguerra, and new large-scale paintings by Todd B. Richmond - Approaching Distance in Midtown, and Les Voyages de Bougainvilliers at the Drawing Room Manila. TOPAZ ARTS International Projects brought new performance works by Paz Tanjuaquio and collaborations, including Dance Voyagewithin exhibitions and outdoor installation in Portals by GedAze Projects at Ateneo Art Gallery.

Stay tuned for our 25th Year in 2025!

Year 2024 also marks 30 years of collaborations by TOPAZ ARTS’ founding artists Todd B. Richmond and Paz Tanjuaquio. To commemorate their first dance film created in 1994, Rooftop, shot on 16MM black and white film, we are sharing the opportunity to view this short film that led to the making of TOPAZ ARTS.
